Booking was easy, a confirmation call the day before, the crew was in touch the day of, giving me an update on the estimate time of arrival. Showed up on time, ready to work. The pricing was fair. I cannot recommend Movers 201 enough. We called several places for estimates before our move, and right away knew this company was for us when Brigitte picked up and answered all of our questions patiently and thoroughly. We had to change dates and times a few times because our closing dates changed, but Movers 201 always accommodated us. On moving day, our entire team of movers moved quickly, efficiently, and went above and beyond to ensure our stuff was transported safely and put in the correct rooms and spots. Everyone was also incredibly friendly and upbeat, which is impressive after a long day of moving an entire house worth of items. Thanks to everyone for ensuring our move went smoothly!!

I used Movers 201 in August 2019 to move from New York to the West Coast. I’m going to use them again this summer to move back from the West Coast to the East Coast, which is what brought them to mind to finally leave my review. Amir was great to work with, and I always received no-nonsense, straightforward responses to all my questions and concerns. Although I never met him in person, he was responsive and involved throughout the move whether I interacted with him by phone, text, or through the website interface. The feature that really sold me on working with Movers 201 is the moving cost calculator that’s part of their website. It’s the first time I worked with a moving company that had this feature and it was really helpful. Amir can add things for you to the calculator while you’re on the phone, or you can add them yourself. And then you can adjust the inventory of your stuff yourself or via a phone call (or text message) with Amir. The advantage for me is that I could see exactly how much, say, my couch would cost to move and I could make decisions about whether to keep or sell things based on the moving cost. I can’t believe I hadn’t used this before with other companies for previous moves — I could have saved many hundreds of dollars by not moving certain things (like the couch!). And, most importantly, the online calculator shows you the exact cost that you will pay, so we didn’t have any surprises. On moving day in New York, the team that showed up was the most organized moving team I’ve worked with before. They tagged everything, listed every single item on a paper inventory, and were one of the fastest crews I’ve worked with for any move out. For some people, to be honest, Movers 201’s exacting attention to detail could perhaps be a slight downside, because if you’ve got extra items that you didn’t account for when using the moving cost calculator, then they will need to add those and your price will be adjusted accordingly. But for me this was a plus because I’m an organized person, I like to have everything accounted for in the moving company’s inventory, and I appreciated their attention to detail, especially for a cross-country move. There was one source of stress for me — which wasn’t Movers 201 fault — which I need to mention for transparency. We didn’t have a place rented yet on the West Coast, so our stuff went into Movers 201 storage. Once we rented a place, our stuff was eventually delivered by an 18-wheeler tractor trailer to our destination. (Movers 201 is based in New Jersey, so I believe that they work with other companies or contractors to do these cross-country deliveries, and in our case there was a wait of a week or two — I forget — while our stuff made its way west.) There is very limited street parking in our West Coast destination city, and it tends to fill up by late morning or early afternoon and the city wouldn’t give me a permit to block off spots for the tractor trailer. Unfortunately, the guys who would be delivering weren’t committing to coming by in the morning, which meant they might not be able to park, which would increase the cost a couple of hundred dollars if they had to rent a truck to ferry the items over. This got a bit stressful for me at the time, but Amir intervened and asked them to do whatever they could to arrive here in the morning, and they did, and it all ended up working out fine in the end. But just be prepared for this possibility if you have a similar situation to mine which, admittedly, is probably uncommon. In the end, I definitely recommend Movers 201 and I’m going to use them again in a couple of months for another cross-country move, this time heading back east. (Now, I’ve just got to stop doing these cross-country moves!)

Three guys showed up and worked for 9 hours straight. They were able to move my decent sized moved from a house two hours away (that actually took them 4 hours due to ridiculous traffic), and for me moved into my new house all the same day. They were polite and respectful of my house and the new hardwoods. Moving is a horrible experience but at least they got it done quick and efficiently, during a rain storm. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone!

This is a continuation from my first review – Crew just finished my move by bringing my things from storage to my new place. What can I say? Another FABULOUS JOB!!!! Awesome crew at 201 Movers!!!!

Amir was a pleasure to work with as always. He moved our company several years ago as well as my daughter and various other friends. When we called him to move us out of our home of 35 years to a much smaller house, he was especially accommodating even during 4 date changes. They showed up on the day of the move and efficiently loaded everything into 2 trucks which they stored overnight. Early the next morning, they were at the new house all ready to go. They unloaded everything and with great care and put it where I wanted. I wish to give a special thank you to Josh, the foreman, and Sacco for their outstanding help!! We cannot thank Movers 201 enough and I recommend them wholeheartedly!

I highly recommend Movers 201. It is refreshing to work with a family-owned business, as you do not get a run-around! Amir quickly worked up a quote for our move between Virginia and Hoboken with very little lead-time. It was a competitive price offering to make the move-out and move-in a one day job which was very helpful though demanding for his crew. James and Danny arrived for the move-out and put their talent and muscles (!) to work getting the truck loaded, despite complications with access to the elevator and loading dock. The drive back to New Jersey had them arrive on location at 8:30pm (think: a very long day already) and Angel joined them to unload the move and deliver everything into a third floor walk-up apartment. Their muscles were put to the test! Nothing was broken and they were very respectful of the health challenges of Covid which added to this customer’s satisfaction.

My brother used Movers201 for a move last year and let me know how smoothly it went. He wasn’t wrong – Amir was easy to work with to book and on the day of the move, Prince and Marvin took care of everything. They finished right at the time they estimated and it was the least stressful move I’ve ever experienced. I’m planning to stay in my new home for a long time, but I would not hesitate to use them again when the time comes.

This is the second time in 2 years I’ve used Movers 201. I just moved (May 2020) from a door man building in the city with a ton of restrictions on moving time and policies etc. . Amir from the office was extremely helpful in dealing with the paper work and making sure the building had what they needed. Also Prince and his crew who moved me out were nothing but professional. From the second the got off the truck they started working and took care with the wrapping of all my furniture with patience. I was quoted a 4 hour move and they delivered on that. It was a stress free move and I will not hesitate to use them again.
